the warranty works fine and if you have a catastrophic failure then it will be worth the money, and it will cover pretty much everything on the car, though i think wear and tear items are excluded, also there is little hassle claiming.
BUT i would ask if you think that it is likely that you are going to spend the best part of £2200 over the next 2 years on repairs, the chances are on a 3 year old car that the likelihood of failure of that value of components is quite small.
Ok so you may have a failure of something small here and there, but at the end of the day will paying to have these things put right add up to masses of cash. Chances are no.
if it was a car which was new to me and i didn't know its history, then I would have a 12 month warranty to cover any unforeseen problems which may have been left by the previous owner. but after that, no.
Im sure some 5.0l owners will be along shortly to say what they have had go wrong, but they seem to be fundamentally more reliable than the diesels.
Its a gamble, but at the end of the day its how the warranty companies make their living, less money goes out on warranty claims than comes in in premiums.
If you want a warranty ask if your dealership has a group wide policy instead of the LR policy, I have had Inchcape cover provided by car care plan (which do LR policies) for £695 through Hunters on both the RR in the past and on my disco its as good as the LR policy for a fraction of the price. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
