TV Tuner

right my late 2004 on a 54 reg has the TV in and a touchscreen display unit but must be old analogue and will not show a picture,
Is there a straight swap I can put in like a hybrid unit that will work.
If so would this one do the job As a straight swap plug and play

I'm sure someone will be along soon to clarify but IIRC I read somewhere that the pre-facelift models with touch screens were a bit of a hodge podge of new and old parts and therefore more difficult to upgrade from analogue to digital - I may be remembering it wrong tho.

Hi, I have a 54 plate Vogue, with touch screen and the fibre optic connections between satnav, radio etc. I have just fitted a digital PAG Hybrid tuner, sourced from ebay. Well the good news is that it is a straight swap, and it works, but it doesn't tune properly. You set the country to UK, and it should tune all the available digital channels, but only one comes up. Neither manual nor automatic tuning will find any other channels, and it is always the same channel that comes up if UK is selected. Oddly, if you change the country setting to a different country, it will again find one channel, but a different one for each country. It is weird, I think it is a software glitch, as you can change channels by changing country, although it takes about 20 seconds each time. Can't be the aerial, or it wouldn't find other channels when settings changed. Very strange, but otherwise works well. Anyone got any ideas??

Guys,
There's been plenty of threads on the correct hybrid tuners to get,

The ones you need for our FF's (touchscreen sat navs) are the ones with the following code:

AH42 19C063 ... and the last two letters should be from AA onwards.

Any other code types will probably not work properly in the UK as they could well be Japanese/Asian/Foreign specification units.

My Hybrid PAG TV Unit has the code AH42 19C063 AH, it came from a 2010 RRS and was plug and play into my FF.

Hope this helps.

Hi Discotigger, Yes, the one I have is the Japanese spec unit. Unfortunately, I did not do my homework properly, having joined fullfatrr after buying the tuner instead of before. They do get a picture and sound perfectly, but refuse to tune ether channels. I was hoping someone like Wiggs might have worked out if they are possible to convert or modify. They look physically identical, so it's probably just a parameter or software incompatibility.

Sorry to hear that Gezzer1520, try giving Wiggs a PM on this site on the matter.

Don't know if they can be reflashed, as the chips may be non-reprogrammable.

Unfortunately, if Wiggs can't help then the only course is to bite the bullet, or get one of the ones I listed above. Big Cry

Good idea. I know where there are a few of the Japanese versions available at a good price, so if there is a way of modifying them, it may be of interest to him. Fingers crossed.

Hi quabba, I did get a reply from Wiggs. He is going to experiment when he gets a chance. I think it's actually a new UK unit rather than a Japanese spec. It is the software version that is incompatible, but Wiggs said it might be possible to modify.
