Machinehead -you are probably right that Salmond will be gone at the next Scottish elections, but unfortunately he will be leading the negotiations if there is a Yes vote. Not sure I fancy the SNP idea of negotiated utopian Scotland 56 TDV8 Vogue SE

Well let's review that fact that he allowed 16 & 17 year olds to vote.

Very fortunate it looks like the young voters don't remember the poll tax and there seems to be a strong NO vote within the 16 & 17 year old |

One thing the UK has is a fairly balanced political environment, an independant Scotland will however be destined for a long term future under Labour after the SNP fall by the wayside after their first term in power and there will be no co-ordinated and coherent opposition to them and their economy busting madness..

Trommel.... Are you Al Murray trolling a Range Rover site? I went to see him last night and that could have almost been a direct quote from his show... Regards Mark 2009 D4; 1993 Classic 3.9 VSE |

Not having a background in economics and all that, I would say that the UK union and the European Union are better for the countries in them then trying to do it on your own, unless you are Norway and even they work together with other countries.

The EU was initially sold as a common market, then over gradual sneaked changes it's become a massive waddling bloated cash pit populated by a mix of elected and unelected 'officials' who seem to exist only to create needless bureaucracy, ridiculous rules/laws and prevent the third world from trading themselves out of poverty with restrictions, quotas and red tape.
