For the first time since owning the RR it was cold enough to need some heating.

Didn't work

Engine nice and warm. All heater control up full, lights Erm 'light', fans work but no heat.

Question is, Where do I start looking for a solution

Any help would be appreciated.

Possibly the heater control valves, which divert the coolant into the heater matrix, but for both of them not to work would be unlikely. They tend to be tucked down between the inner wing and the engine on the passenger side of the engine bay. The fact that both sides of the car are cold possibly more electrical. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

mine had the same a while back - very slow to open the airflow on pressing the 3 directional buttons (feet/face etc).

Put it onto max temp and play about with the fan speed, direction buttons etc. You may find that they have become stuck or difficult to open due to ingest of dirt, fluff, muck etc.

I did this with mine and it all came good, heat back on again adn cool when required. however if you have the time and/or knowledge, take the dashboard cover off and get into the pipes etc to make sure they all open on demand and are not jammed/impeded.

had the same with mine as mrs dav said it was cool, so had a play about with heater controls heard some quite firm thuds off the flaps and hey presto, heat!

I have tried all of the above but still got no heating. Guess I am going to have to get at these flaps and make sure they are not stuck.

What do I need to strip down to find them please.

I have had some trouble with mine and I`m still looking to sort it fully. My problems started with the thermostat being stuck open. I replaced it, but apparently didnt bleed it good enough. The main culprits for heating malfunction on the m62 4.4 engine seems to be air bubles in the coolant. Its a bitch to fully bleed, but helped a lot on mine. Mine is now warm on idle and keeps being warm until the engine gets pressured, like when acceleration. Lots of threads on this forum about bleeding the coolant properly.
