Poll - How long do you take to clean it? 3 hours!

Car hadn't been cleaned for about 3 weeks and seems to attract tar spots/ difficult to shift crud on the lower door trims and around the rear bumper.

3 hours just to rinse; Tardis the colour coded lower door trims/ rear bumper; and shampoo wash the car, inner door/ boot sills, engine bay; the alloys including the inner dishes; and the tailpipes... and I've not even had time to dry it off!

It would have been easier to keep on top of it and do it every few days or at least weekly but after 3 weeks, the clean would have been half baked if I'd not done it as I did although I can't justify 3 hours a week cleaning the car which seems too long to me!

How do you compare?

Spend 8 hours getting it looking like this

About 1 1/2 hours with the jet washer to clean all the crud off underneath, but it doesn't get polish and stuff....!!!!

Having said that, would think nothing of taking two days to clean my Merc, every surface polished to within an inch of it's life.... so your not doing bad.....

Don't think I've ever cleaned mine in 4 1/2 years. It has been cleaned on the odd occasion it's been to a Swiss LR garage.

I will clean it in the next few weeks because it's proper filthy at the moment, but I won't be doing all that clay bar, hair drying, buffing the vampire slayer stuff.

option 5.....but I can take all day not 3 hours if polishing etc , the ff only gets this at every 3rd or 4th wash though and then takes less than a hour to hand wash it, mind FF gets more in the winter when the salt has been deployed on the roads Big Cry If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

No multiple choices, Ryan?

Options 1,3 and 5 for me depending on time available. Lately more Option 1. Si. <This is my name.

Mine is filthy, at the moment, was clean last week, even shined some bits, but the road into longleat campsite was damp so the mud and muck got everywhere. The caravan is similarly dirty!

Usually spend 2 hours on it, get the local hand wash to wash it off....coz I'm lazy! And they do a decent job, dry it off with a chamois not a scraper. Then it gets a polish with either megs or zymol depending whats at the front of the cupboard.

Hoover out and leather clean/conditioner if needed. Which it does at the moment! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

@Pete, I saw read about your off roading adventures. Looks like great fun... in someone else's vee hickle... and no matter the make, a man needs something to keep shiny! Laughing Thumbs Up

@Kurt, I was going to add a 'never clean it' button but foresaw you'd play and so thought I'd let you show off your bird muck with pride, as opposed to anonymously clicking the 'abstain' button! Very Happy

@WD, it would easily take me a couple of days if I ever had the time to do the full hit. If it's clean, as it is now, sometimes I power wash it at home after getting home from each journey and then washing within a week can be done in an hour but it's getting the chance to keep on top of it!

@Bellini & NMJ, I'd love to get the local cleaners to keep on top of mine but having seen their gear, I'd rather it got dirty than let them loose!

@CTC, I agree! It's done a few miles in that time but leave it more than a week and it seems to attract tar spots and hard to shift crud all too well (no mudflaps?).

Thumbs Up

The majority of voters, at the time of writing 28%, managing a wash and rinse within the hour. Must be missing the dirt behind the ears at that Laughing
