twice a year it get's foamed, rinsed, washed, rinsed again, dried, machine polished and waxed.

then on the weekly routine, foam, rinse, wash rinse and dry. About 2 hours

No over 3 hours button... deliberately, so that the true OCD sufferers can step out from the shadows and chirp away about how they get in a lather whenever the opportunity arises

Agree that between 1 and 2 hours seems to be the norm. I rarely dry mine unless polishing etc afterwards. Reason? Because invariably I see imperfections and end up wasting time I've not got, trying to correct and polish!

I would think twice Ryan. It's lovely when it's clean but it shows every mark, stone chip etc, so unless you really keep on top of it, it can look tatty very quickly.

We have 3 cars, Stornoway FF, Silver Freel2 and black Fiat 500.

I used to spend hours and hours cleaning etc. 3 months ago I bought a machine polisher, Sonax Perfect finish and Sonax NPT and Sonax Brilliant Shine detailer.
I polished each car and protected with NPT.

Now all i need to do is quickly wash and dry then quick spray of the Brilliant shine and wipe off - I do all 3 cars in less than 2 hours - really has changed my life. Cars look amazing too, dirt does not like sticking.

Seems that me and the other who spent nearly 3 hours washing and shampooing only are in the minority. Quite right as well. Not long enough for a proper job and too long for a swill

Washed twice in the last two years. Both times by east europeans, delux wash for £9

Washed and dried takes a bit less than 10 minutes, that's with 4-5 of them all working on the car at the same time .

I did wash it once, and the spray shop that did my rear arches washed it today before I got it back

I've washed mine several times and once at the hand car wash. I did polish it when I first got it, but I ended up at the Doctors the next day with soft tissue and nerve damage in my shoulder So for some inexplicable reason I haven't polished it since, although I do get the urge, might have to have a go over a few days, to lessen the allergic reaction that I get  Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

It depends what I'm doing..... Normally a proper clean and quick polish top up is a day, easy, without leather feeding.

If I need it to look not too bad, and I have no time, I just do the wheels...nice shiny alloys make a car appear cleaner.....

Normally I rinse, wash the 2 bucket method, dry with waffle weave and do a quick polish spray top up. Between 1 and 2 hours. No inside work. That's done a different day.

Every few months a decent polish....

So my vote was less than 2 hours, as it's what I do more frequently, but a full work through, all done, underneath doors and dust out of vents and switches is over a day, going steady with coffee breaks.

I have also done my seats and door cards with an electric toothbrush to sonically remove dirt from grain..... It works. Takes ages and the toothbrush only lasts 25 mins between charges. Bit of a design flaw

May be you should invest in one of those cheap battery powered tooth brushes, I'm sure that with the right mobile phone adaptor and some tape, you could make one thats powered by the cigarette lighter socket  Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
