A close call last night

Was driving home from the pub last night (2 shandies only) and noticed a car in an unusual postion, with hazards on. Thought to myself "This doesn't look right" so slammed on the anchors a bit approaching this right hand bend.

Sure enough, a car was facing the wrong way, backwards off the bend, had slid and stuffed it.

Suddenly notice the BLACK ICE all over the road as I am coming into the bend Censored F**K!

I cut across the corner to give myself more room to slide off the road if it happens, car goes into a 4 wheel slide, heart rate is 200bpm (Don't want to stuff my RR!) I am doing 20 mph tops by now.

Luckily I managed to keep it facing forwards and I actually slid the opposite way, towards the right hand lane (on a right hand bend). As soon as the car slid to the grass verge it came to a sudden halt and all was OK.

That's the closest I've come to a crash in a long time.

Half a mile down the road, another car totally trashed having slid on the ice, then a lorry jack-knifed too. It was a bad night! Discovery 4 HSE

Very nearly!

Big heavy cars slide better than small light cars, I know that much. Discovery 4 HSE
