Riccarton, steer well clear of a horse lorry unless you can get a newish Oakley or whatever, they are a money pit as you allude to with the race trucks. Far better to tow, would be more cost effective to buy another L322 and a trailer than a lorry, trust me, bain of my bloody life, |

Fair play sir ![]() ![]() ![]() I could do with some dry timber for the fire now though ![]() Cant join the club as I like a clean FF inside......its the other fleet which work! If it dont work.......burn it! If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF. If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser! If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !! |

I can sympathise regarding horse lorries. I've got an old Ford cargo which has an unhealthy love affair with my wallet. Had it near on 4 years, new engine in the first year, numourous blow outs, leaking roof and new brakes to name a few issues. In garage now for its pre plating check and surprise ssurprise it needs new this and that - every plating costs £500 + and that's before I add fuel for every trip out. 6litre diesel gets through a lot and it's slower than a tortoise up hills. Trouble is we need something to carry horses and for us to sleep in as kids compete a lot so kind of stuck with lorries - no way I'm going back to a horse trailer and tent!! |

That would be ideal but wondering what the weight would be with two ponies loaded plus all the stuff that goes with them? I could make a fibreglass body but doubt it'll be hugely lighter than an alloy body if at all. It would be much easier just to have a trailer instead of the cost of a lorry. |

Just out of interest, if I design it I'll let you know the weight / cost so you can have a laugh at my expense (or I could gloat). |
