Intermittent heated seat

Hi Gang,

Can anyone confirm that once the car is actually running, the battery should be being charged..

Just wondering because the car starts ok but the seat does not always work so was wondering if the car switches these things off even when it is running if the battery is low..?

Also - is it ok to have the car on charge overnight even if the FBH is set to come on - i.e. use the charger to recharge whilst it's being used (to run the FBH)

Probably a silly question - but unsure of where to start with something that works sometimes but not others.

Thanks Ash

easiest way to check is to put a multimeter on the battery when its running, should read around 14 to 14.5 volts..

as for the seat, it could be a intermittent connection problem.. ... - .- -.

I had it on charge the other day and (possibly stupidly) tried the FBH whilst on charge. Battery was reading 12.6 whilst on charge but when the FBH heater kicked in it slowly dropped down past 12.0. I turned it off then (as I suspect the car would not start if it was below 12) but will test it with the engine running next time to see what it reads.

Thx Stan Ash
