Parking Sensors, Rear Camera, PDC Switch Inoperative

Hi, this is my first post to the forum. I've been viewing all sorts on here for the past year-and-a-half with a view to purchasing my first FFRR... I've found, and am in the process of purchasing, a 2010MY Vogue SE TDV8 from a non-LR garage in England. She has average verified miles for the age, full LR service History, very, very good condition throughout in terms of bodywork, undercarriage, tyre wear, running, gearbox, engine bay etc. No nasty rattles, the lo-box engages no problem although it has a 'bong' indicating normal height available although when I parked up and went through the Terrain system settings I could raise and lower ok.

However, the only issue I could find on a 3 hour session with the vehicle that perplexed me (1 hour on the road, mixed driving, surfaces etc) is that the rear view camera does not operate when reverse is selected, front nor rear sensors are active and the manual switch for PDC is as dead as a Do-do. Stupidly I forgot to check the fuse, but is it reasonable to believe that it could just be a fuse?

All other essential functions are A1, electric seats, heated steering wheel, electric steering column, FBH (was a tad smokey for a very short while), digital TV etc all perfect, spare has never been on, no dings on wheels or panels, no sign of anything other than shopping having been in the boot.

The clock and date were showing the wrong time and there date was 2009 which suggested to me battery reconnection recently (been on the forecourt for months and I suspect had gone way down over the winter).

I've tried to get a response from a LR specialist in the locale to the garage to give it a complete pre-check for me but getting zero response from him. What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance for any help, looking forward (seriously) to my relationship with this beauty and the members on this forum Wink Confused

Hi Cam-Tech-Craig, that was damn quick off the mark Smile She's sitting in a garage in the Forest of Dean at present if that is of any help to you, not far from the Cotswolds I suppose...
And thanks, I've enjoyed watching a few friends in Scotland 'enjoy' ownership over the years and I think I'm ready for it (who am I kidding).

So, I was able to have my pre-purchase inspection undertaken by a LR specialist in the Forest of Dean. I can't speak highly enough of this chap, extremely thorough and a comprehensive and well documented report (including pictures) and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't ask for.
You can find him at http://www.jwlrs.co.uk/about-us
Looking forward to brining the FFRR home in the next week where she will undergo a little bit of work to resolve the issues identified, thankfully nothing mega (at least for now) Whistle
