When i rebuilt my transmission i replaced the cooler and the pipes to be safe, mine is an 04 4.4.

The TC recon is a specialist job, JPAT would be my first choice, mine was done by Sussex Autoparts and has been fine for a few thousand miles
They must use the correct fluid as well - mobil LT71141 and not an alternative unless its the exact oil but rebranded

I found the best way to test the Tc was to accelerate very lightly up a slight incline and watch for the needle movement up to the 56 mph

The TC was replaced with a $1000 factory unit. hopefully it´s not been damaged or anything else.

The transmission fluid was still looking good.

Not sure about the oil cooler pipes, are these common problems ?

I only changed mine so I knew the complete system was replaced. They are unlikely to fail, my concern was they may have been blocked with sludge but if you are flushing you should be fine.

When I was trying to diagnose an oil leak i added a small amount of infrared Edit UV dye into my transmission fluid and even that altered the way the transmission functioned so if you have water in yours that could explain your problem.
My oil leak was the pcv hoses and cam covers

Yes.. everything will be removed and cleaned. A bit worried about the snap-on connections. But they they might be able to replace just the tube and connectors on the original pipes.

My pipes were stuck fast onto the cooler as they are like you say the push fit connections, but they may be able to shift them. i had just stripped and rebuilt the entire transmission with bearing and plates and all sorts so i thought i dont want to be back in here for a long time so changed it all, well my credit card did..........
i think the pipes are one piece

So I´ve gotten the car back now.

It drives ok, they replaced the cooler, thermostat and housing.

Flushed 20l of LT71141 oil thru the system aswell.

Hopefully it´ll be ok for a couple of years now..

Yes I hope so.

Drives well now .. only some vibration when going uphill at around 90-110kph .. ujoints maybe. Not to bad.

Vibration could be torque converter but it should be locked up fully at around that speed.
when i rebuilt mine and replaced the torque converter i still had a bit of vibration for a few weeks while everything settled in.

As long as they used the correct mobil ATF you should be ok

Naw.. It´s more of a driveline vibration(slower). Nothing I´m going to worry about right now

Check your brake disc temperatures to see if they are similar all round after a short run. John

Issues with vibrations seems to have been tire related as it´s gone after switching to Michelin Latitude Sports.

Gearbox still working fine, but Water pump decided to eject the VC and fan into the radiator. I´m such a happy RR owner

Think ive spend about the same amount as I bought it for in repairs now

Make sure you replace it with a Hella (OEM) one, don't use First line or others. They are pants.

It´s at a garage, they only replace with OEM or equivalent parts.

Bad thing was that I had to leave the car 5 hrs from home and fly home. And then fly back and get the car when it´s done
