There are different metal ones on the market, the Bearmach one we sell doesn't have a drain, I appreciate this is awkward but is actually quite common even on new cars with a flush being the recommended route. The genuine ZF metal pan we have does have a drain plug but that is about mid height in the pan so would leave at least a litre in unless it was jacked up at one end, of course you still have oil left in the torque converter so a flush is still the best route in my opinion.
