Thank You LOOKERS Park Royal

Oops - posted in wrong thread Embarassed

Many thanks to Jeremy, James, Chris and other members of the Lookers Park Royal Sales Team who invited myself and a colleague to their 2011 Model Year launch today.

The superb weather really made the best of a very enjoyable day of off-roading, on-road driving and shotgun shooting competition (including some very welcome bacon rolls upon arrival and a delicious lunch) in and around the grounds of the beautiful 5000 acre West Wycombe Park and the EJ Churchill Shooting Centre.

Very impressed with how well the whole event was organised by you guys and enjoyed meeting some of your other customers - all like minded and proud RR owner/drivers.

Had an really interesting (and quite exciting... - you will know what I am talking about Jez Wink ) off roading drive in a Defender - back to basics techniques were used to discover the most of what these amazing vehicles are capable of along the miles of tracks we tackled - all without the electronic aids the RR, RRS, Discoverys and Freelanders offer.

Jez / James - my guest was really quite gutted to discover the current Defender range are now considered commercial vehicles by the taxman - having just taken delivery of the latest Nissan Navara - a bit more pressure from you two and I think you may have to consider taking that in p/x - you really got him thinking how he can aquire a proper Landy rather than what he has got now - seriously!Laughing

After Tim in Scotland's recent review of the new Range Rover 4.4 TDV8 on another thread - there is little I can add - it is a superb vehicle with an unbelievable amount of gadgets and toys which I don't think another manufacturer will be able to come close to - I was amazed at the size of the brake discs and calipers, they are huge!(thought the reclining rear seats and aircraft style rear headrests were superb addition) ...

...but,...

...I don't think it offers as great an increase margin in driving performance over the previous 3.6 TDV8 as their was between that and the earlier TD6 - IMHO (reckon I need one for the weekend to find out for sure) Whistle

Thanks again guys Cool - a terrific day out! Thumbs Up

PS - a nice touch displaying the fullfatrr.com and other forum title stickers in each of the demo vehicles Smile

It was our pleasure! Glad you had a good day and enjoyed yourself. I am thinking of putting together a day in the same format for fullfatrr and rrsport forum members early in the New Year, so will keep you posted.

James Thumbs Up
