So this was very odd...

Mrs 66 comes running back into the house this morning saying that key RR key fob isn't working. She was able to unlock the doors manually, but then the alarm went off as soon as she opened them.

I'm in the middle of doing something else, late (she was even later) and struggling to hear her over the din of the flat bed lorry two door down unloading some building supplies with a crane arm thing.

We're both struggling to work out what's going on, and then the postie wanders past and says "It [the fob] won't work while that lorry is running its crane and engine".

I look at him with my "thanks, but I don't believe in astrology face", hand Mrs 66 the keys to my car and wander back into the house.

Ten minutes later the noisy flatbed has gone, as has postie. I tiptoe outside, and Censored me - the key fob works again!

I think I owe postie an apology... Range Rover 4.2 SC

Once had something similar in a filling station - luckily for me my car wouldn't lock as opposed to unlock Thumbs Up
Apparently it didn't like the overhead canopy. At least it reassured me that my car must be a female Whistle

Try working at places like AT&T in Redditch then. So much Censored RF on the tower that it really is a case of use the physical key or leave the car unlocked.

Our old P38 used to do that! If we parked anywhere near overhead power lines you could lock it with the fob but then the little Censored wouldnt open!

I think it was some of the Freelanders suffered flat batteries, because the alarm ECU would keep being woken up by RF interference.

I'm fairly sure though, if you open the door with the key and the alarm goes off, just put the key in the ignition and start it and the alarm disarms.

It will be the rf from his remote control for the crane. Interference can knock the fob out, I had similar in a waitress car park, turned out to be the remote trolley mover which was causing it. As soon as he had passed by it worked again! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
