Halfords have currently got their 3 for 2 offer on all cleaning products, could save some money and stock up.

It's been running for months.

Halfords, -is a convenience store these days. they dont sell the parts you used to buy, like fan belts, or radiator hoses, as they hae become too complicated to stock. however, they cater for the person who comes in for some wd40 and comes home with a satnav, and an air freshener. with matching keyring.
they sell some real rubbish. but they are easy to find and you can get most sundries there, but i would just pay the normal price elsewhere that would almost certainly work out cheaper than the 3 for 2 price.

euro carparts, GSF, plenty of discount codes, and offers to find on the web, and click an collect.

you dont see halfords doing that now , do you?

Their tools are pretty good generally decent value too.

Obviously like most big stores things like 3 for 2 are just to get you to buy more. It's probably possible to buy branded stuff like Autoglym for the same price on Amazon, but I've generally found Halfords pretty well priced for it. And of course I can go and get it with in 10 min. Their own brand stuff is often cheaper from one of the motor factors.

Their trailers are good value, when I shopped around for a small box trailer they were the cheapest. Their accessories for them are more expensive, they obviously bank on you buying the spare wheel, hitch lock and number plates from them at the same time.

How much?
Autoglym is good stuff, but it isn't that good, when I first got my ffrr I polished it with some Autoglym Super Resin Polish and it did look good. In fact it had 2 coats, but it was wearing off after a few weeks. I then used some Black Diamond Cut & Shine (which is made by former Autoglym employees ), with better results, but it's trade only.
But by far the best result that I have had is from some Autosmart Carnauba Gold Wax, it's a semi hard wax and the results have lasted 3 months so far.
But I would recommend Black Diamond as a comparable alternative to Autoglym, and it's nearly a third of the price.

Putting the Extra gloss protection on after the super resin polish makes it last a good 6 months, if not longer.

The point is though, you can just pop to Halfords and pick the stuff off the shelf.

Zymol every time, just coz it smells so nice........

Then the ag extra gloss protection after that. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Black Diamond in available on line if your not in the North Herts area, as Autosmart have franchises all over the country, and as they are self employed, they will be more than happy to sell to you.

Carnauba wax would appear to be the best type to go for, according to my tub it's made from Palm wax, would seam that most of the really good polishes contain it, inc. Black Diamond. That way you don't have to faff around putting the extra coat of polish on, which is probably Carnauba or Carnuba (depending on who's product blerb you read!)
It gives a finish more like the old hard wax that you could get, but it doesn't take as much elbow grease to get it to shine  Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

the extra gloss protection is described as 'hard resin', its some sort of solvent based product with the consistency of water, smear it all over, wait for the solvent to evaporate and basically just wipe it off. It's not a faff and doesn't require any elbow grease.

You're right though, carnuba wax is in all sorts, they even polish smarties with it i think.

^Have been using extra gloss protection for years, very good and easy to apply. Basically a wipe on, wait, wipe off product. Makes the car very shiny too.

Was planning on a polishing session today but it looks like spitting with rain.

so have decided to wash the polishing cloths instead  There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
