Scotland 2017 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Corris Grey

It's a few years since I was there, but I had ten years travelling by motorcycle to the Bol d'Or 24h motorcycle race at Paul Ricard (near Toulon). We used different routes each year, but tried to avoid motorways and Peage. We enjoyed the N75 Grenoble to Sisteron (where you would turn east towards Digne and Grasse while we continued south). Further north the section Troyes - Dijon -Beaune - Chalon s Saone on N71 and N74 was also attractive, a mix of pastoral landscapes and well known vineyards.
If you are in a convertible and can enjoy the smell of the countryside as well as the view, one of my abiding memories (not on the route described above though) is travelling through the lavender fields in the Camargue in the early evening, an almost empty road, the sun on our backs and lovely perfumed air. I'm not 100% sure where that was, but it might have been the N568 between Arles and Fos.
Enjoy your trip whichever way you go. Only Range Rovers since 1988

Remembering we are using a nice convertible so would rather stay somewhere NOT parking the car on the street Thumbs Up

We stayed more than once at La Chaumiere du Val Suzon near Dole (SE of Dijon) and Hotel de la Poste at Saint Seine L'Abbaye (NW of Dijon). Both have been 'done up' since we were there (it's over 20 years ago I'm afraid) so the parking arrangements may well have changed. I recall both as being in village settings with no apparent threat to security, but you would be as well to ask specifically about parking and security if you want to make a reservation rather than turn up and see what you think.
If you're more at the Aston Martin/Ferrari end of the market I can't offer suggestions from personal experience, but would expect members of the Relais et Chateaux grouping to be a good starting point, with their own grounds etc. Only Range Rovers since 1988

Depends on how nice a hotel you want.

To be honest we normally stay at the Novotel Dijon sud in marsannay la cote, just just to the south of Dijon, has a fenced in car park and we haven't had any trouble in the numerous times we have stayed. The accommodation is a little dated 1990's but it's decent enough and there is ac, a restaurant and bar. You wouldn't holiday there but it's fine for a night. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I've stayed there a few times as well - usually a Novotel, Mercure, Suite Novotel or Ibis Styles - I use
=http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/united-kingdom/index.shtml]accorhotels.com as it's the parent company - put in the place & then do a map search as I'm usually on a stopover & want one close to the autoroute Thumbs Up
