My RR rarely gets dirty as we use it as our "shop window" so does not usually get used when raining especially through the winter months... So, when it does it gets a wash by the valleter bloke! Once in a while ill spend a day polishing but getting more infrequent as we are usually busy working on everyone else's FF's! Rolling Eyes

That said, my new one has so far taken me well over a month to get through the bodyshop! Still think it will be the end of November before i find the time to fit her up ready to replace the silver car... Rolling Eyes

I couldn't agree more with you there! There is nothing worse than a shiny car with dirty swirls in places were it's been missed.
When I do wash mine I do a panel at a time rinsing as I go, this eliminates the dried on soap dirt that can arise if you ain't quick enough! Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Problem with a black car is you can't 1/2 wash it, so I voted 3 hours.

Or a Buckingham Blue one, which is almost black. Did it and the Mini in 1 3/4 hours yesterday. Rinse, shampoo, rinse, alloys (grr), chamois. That was for both. A pox on multi-spoke alloy wheels. Sure they took longer than the rest of the car, in both cases.

Keeping it clean, we are not! No time to wash the car and don't trust drive in set ups; and black doesn't look too good when filthy! Rolling Eyes

The Polish car wash boys down the road do a god job for £10. It's like a production line with a division of labour starting with power rinse, then sheepskin wash, power wash off, blow dry, synthetic chamois off and finished with traditional chamois and window cleaner. Takes about 10 minutes.

There's also various interior options and deeper valeting.

I struggle to justify spending the three hours I'd like to, cleaning and clay barring the car when these guys do an acceptable job in 10 minutes.

When I'm older I guess?!

Missing the time to clean one rim Stan, never mind the full car... Black? Every scratch, every...

I'm not averse to paying someone to clean it, just that fear of trying out the wrong one. Bodywork doesn't stress me so much as you can correct minor scratches and swirls they might cause. It's more them scratching the glass or those black pillar covers etc cos once they're scratched, it's not going away!

Thumbs Up

3 hours...only 3 hours!!! You can't rush a job as important as cleaning a FFRR. 3 days I was prepping mine before I sold it and 3 weeks to detail it when I first bought it Laughing Laughing Laughing

Still not cleaned it! No time... Mrs pld today suggested not taking it to one of the formulaic multi person car washes as it'll end up getting scratched! Might do the wheels tomorrow night and the body the night after... Might not of course Rolling Eyes
