After a few years without a ff i am back behind the wheel. On saturday i bought a 2006 4.2sc . Done just over 140000 but full dealer history. I have already started doing the jobs it needs
Today i have replaced all the rear brake pipes as the osr steel pipe was leaking under the tank guard.

Upto now i have found the following jobs needing doing but i got it cheap so have a few spare pennies after selling my disco4

Leaky brake pipes *done*
2 new tyres (but will probably change all 4)
Corrosion on rear wheel arches to sort
start of light corrosion on ns upper tailgate
remove god awfull mudflaps
Occasional "air suspension fault normal height only" warning to look into
fit dog guard
Looks like it has had a "smart repair" on the rear edge of the drivers door but the blue is too dark
small grille missing in the nsf lower bumper
exterior door handles blotchy so need painting/covers
small dent on tailgate
Thats about all, upto now pics to follow

A few more jobs done today. Got rid of the horrendous dumbo ears that are supposedly mudflap (should get another 5 mpg now! ). Gave it a good clean including stripping the rear end and getting in all the nooks and crannies. Ordered a set of pirelli scorpion verdes from this very forum (thanks Mark ).

Altogether i have no regrets yet about buying a 4.2 sc. Getting just over 20mpg over the last 200 miles on mixed rural and motorway journeys so its not much worse on fuel than my tdv8 HST rrsnort(averaged about 22-24) with the added bonus of saving me almost £300 per month that i was paying on finance for the snort(£300 per month pays for a LOT of fuel!) Plus the Fullfat is a much nicer place to be and the tv's stop the devil spawn from murdering each other every journey

its booked in tomorrow for 4 wheel alignment and will hopefully have the new tyres this weekend so should be ready for a road trip to Scotland in a couple of weeks
Currently toying with the idea of colour coding the outside of the front grill and side vents but leaving the mesh bits chrome?
Also need top sort the outside door handles by either painting or covering them?

thanks guys, yes the interior is very nice. Seller thought it was blue and cream but its actually black and cream. Just a couple of bits needing attention on the interior like the cup holder rubbery coating is peeling and the drivers armrest is a bit discoloured but other than that its really tidy Paul

Got the 4 wheel alignment done. Also replaced all the tyres with pirelli scorpions (thanks Mark ). So now it goes around corners  Paul
