United Kingdom 2014 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Corris Grey

Way more than that based on the cross section & size. They are a lot thicker and heavier than my 5 tonne shackles and you deffo wouldn't want to drop one of the hooks on your toe.

from what i can see it looks to either be a 4.5 or 7ton rated unit from the picture on disco 3 where its popping out of a jerry..

Just my opinion though as i cant make out any WLL or BL on them from the picture. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Depends on what and how it's made, you can't really tell just from looking at a picture...

Don't knock these ropes, they are one of the best you can buy and you know you can rely on them, they are very popular and very strong...

Personally I use straps, they tend to last longer when abused in rough off road activity and you can see the entire construction, a rope can get damaged inside and you won't see it till it fails...

Just my 2p..... Pete

You mean this? They're not the ropes in question:

I keep mine in one of these. Please note this is my own rope and not one offered in the group buy.

not sure on those snow boards...

Id want to see much more air and lots of smaller blocked to aid grip.

For the shackle and strap there is one rule of thumb I would advise anyone to follow.

Make sure that the shackle/Hook/D-ring... Is rated at a good bit more than the strap its attached to.

IE Strap/Webbing rated at 5 ton. Shackle/Hook should be at least 7ton. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Agree with that - I'd always want the rope to go before the shackle and/or mounting point.

I used to do a fair bit of off roading & have seen two tow balls get ripped off vehicles - and they make scary missiles as they are launched towards the other vehicle Shocked

The first one was some guy who had bolted a tow ball onto his front bumper without any kind of backing plate Whistle

Second was with a kinetic rope - I the rule that time that if it doesn't move after 2 attempts - try something different.
