HEVAC fan fault is the likely culprit! |

Almost elpeede Your right about unlocking it and all systems boot up but in my 05, if you only open the door when it has NOT been locked it only wakes up "slightly" and will go to sleep again after 2 or 3 mins. In my experience, unlocking the car but not immediately driving it keeps it awake for god knows how long and ultimately draining your batt. @ Duke Thrust - here is an example: Get home from work and lock it up. Oh , left my briefcase in the car . Unlock it and all systems (including Nav Screen) power up. Grab my briefcase and then put my key in the ignition, turn it to 2nd position back again and key out. This shuts it down again. Takes 2 seconds. If I don't do this, Nav screen stays on even after I have re-locked it. Now, on the flip side, if I haven't locked it and need to go back to the car to get something, I do not have to go through this routine. This is my experience and I don't worry about my battery anymore. mike. |

I once noticed that the nav screen was on in my car long after I'd locked it (prob 30 min or so). I opened and relocked it and it went off. Not sure how this helps but I think sometimes the car doesn't sleep. |
