I did mine, think it was £150 cash as guy had three to do the same day.
It was done at a proper workshop rather than some oik with a laptop and I got a full receipt etc.

Must admit 282 to 340 ish is better than most as its usually a 40bhp ish gain but the torque oh lordy, what a difference. I'm very pleased and wouldn't hesitate to do it again, but there again I always get all my vehicles done, even the motorhomes is.

So the answer to your quandary a big yes, plus you know your vehicle rather than the new unknown one. Many thanks
Paul

I had my old, overweight TD6 done last year by a BMW specialist and its nowhere near as slow and gutless as it was. Still heavy and barge-like, but she does pick up a lot quicker, especially if already moving.

It has temporarily held me back from getting a TDV8 in fact, due to the low miles I do a year.

I had my 2007 done using a Bluefin device, passed it on to new owner, another forum member, there was a clear improvement in performance. Geoff

Do they possibly give issues with the extra torque on the TC or gearbox - I would;t want to upset an already fragile system..?? Ash

Australia 2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Santorini Black

I've had a Bluefin remap since June last year and covered about 18000 kms. Difference in power & torque has been very impressive. To date I have not had any issues with TC or auto transmission but I had a total flush and filter change when I purchased the vehicle in May last. I don't thrash the vehicle but it always has more than ample power & torque for my needs especially towing a 2 tonne van.

Cheers
Steve

Is there an easy way to tell if the car has already been re-mapped? My TD6 is the first FF I have ever driven, to me it seems pretty good considering its nearly 3 tons. No longer FF owner but still interested. Present car Jaguar XE

No, no way to tell unless you can borrow another identical car and drive one after another.

I had the same concern with my old X5, I found most decent remappers wil check your car and if std will proceed, if not tell you so for no charge.
Mine had already been done, I was right miffed. Many thanks

God, sorry for the late reply Scotty, I rarely get on here Embarassed It was a mobile service, guy called Simon at E-maps (he has a website), hes based in Midlands somewhere (ish) and travelled to me. Lovely guy. very knowledgeable he's a BMW specialist which is why I chose him for the TD6 engine, he got great feedback on an old BMW forum. Think it was £299 all in, he cleared some old faults before doing the map (he even asked if I had gearbox issues 10k miles ago, I did. Had it replaced 5 years ago) and he talked me through every step. Remapped it then out for a run, really impressed with it

Highly recommend it, and him too. If my next car or RR is mappable, I'll be using him again Thumbs Up

I've just had my TD6 done by Alive Tuning in Lincolnshire - I'll do a full write up soon, but given this has made a whole world of difference, I'd definitely go and see them if I had a V8 Diesel.

in a heartbeat transforms it to an amazing level, nearly 3 ton and sub 7sec 0-60 and 140+ and the torque is superb Smile mines on 129k now and still like a Swiss watch, a few other mods done to put it up a bit more to 370bhp ish really happy and wouldn't consider going to 4-4 unles its a 405 Thumbs Up _____________________________________________________
