Hello all. I'm a long time lurker and recently joined. I own a 52 plate L322 which has horrendous heating. It takes ages to get up to temp. and then barely any heat comes out of the heater. I've been reading up about thermostats and I've noticed an EGR thermostat mentioned. I can only find listings for ones fitted to BMW's. Are they all the same or model specific?
Has anybody carried out EGR removal? I have read somewhere of someone removing the EGR thermostat and the EGR altogether. Does this solve heating issues aswell? Has anyone got pictures with it all removed?

Looked this up today, you need bmw part no. 2 247 723 that is the same as pel000070 egr thermostat.
Now there is a thread somewhere quite recently, a guy has completely removed the egr thermostat. But I believe he is having issues with the temp gauge. The bmw part is around 30quid cheaper than lr and that's an original part.
Plenty of de egr kits on ebay, mine was already done.
