Picked up my car from the dealer this week after leaving it with them for a week to get the driver's door resprayed while I was on holiday. I've just realised that I no longer hear the short mechanical whir of the steering lock disengaging when I put the key in the ignition or engaging after I remove it again. When the engine is off I used to be able to lock the steering by turning the wheel a bit until the lock clicked on. But now this doesn't happen. I still can't turn the wheel much because the PAS has no power but it still doesn't lock.

Dealer fixed it today. Apparently the lock motor needed to be have its start position re-calibrated (I assume after battery disconnection before the door repair). Lock works again. They didn't charge me for it |
