Scotland 2013 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Luxor

Yep, been there and paid the price.

My ignition showed the same symptoms......key not turning in the lock....turns out the ignition lock was fine, but the physical lock on the steering column was not acknowledging the key's insertion and thus stopping the key turning.

I tried the drilling a hole in the ECU on the column, but it didn't work. Removing fuse 18 or replacing with a temporary switch to simulate removing the fuse will work, but only for a short time.

I ended up having to replace the column with one from the US with a guarantee. I suspect the seller refurbishes failed columns since new replacements are getting harder to find, even from LR.

Also if you buy an used one (perhaps mechanic is refurbished), you have no guarentee of good function electronic ans Solenoid. You must before fitting an other column refurbish the electronic! Look in my Pictures in Gallery or album. Best rgs, Uli.

Ive had this problem too...a real pain in the b** :blub:
