TD6 hard to start

bought my td6 a year ago and since purchase it has always struggled to start, it cranks over fast but fires only after say 10 rotations of the crank shaft, and starts rather limply, when running it drives and runs fine no problem, when the engine is hot it takes even longer to start, checked fuel pressure with IId tool and found when cold engine fires at 12,000 kpa and pressure jumps to 30,000 kpa as soon as it fires, when hot it gets to 11,500 kpa and wont start, if i keep it cranking for a long time it will finally start, low pressure pump puts out 400 kpa and i replaced intake pump 6 months ago without any change, does anyone have any great suggestions on the problem, is my common rail pump stuffed? or injector faulty? all help greatly appreciated

Sounds like blocked injectors

Do a leak test to find out which ones, then enjoy replacing them Thumbs Up

great thanks for the info, only strange thing is mine runs perfect, no vibration missing or hesitations but will do a leak test anyway

Yes it's odd. Once started runs fine ( I had two dodgy injectors)

Used to have an old mower like that, a right sod to get started but would then run all day without a hiccup. .
