I don't know if it available in your country but we can look up http://www.dft.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls/default.asp?tx When we bought our 2012 in December, the dealer was happy to provide service record and build sheet.

We reported smoke on heavy acceleration to Taggarts in Glasgow on three separate occasions and on every visit they've said they can't replicate the fault so don't want to know.

When we booked the AB into Team Valley for service and MOT this year they've said straight away what it needs and they're going to get in touch with Land Rover.

Is it really an engine out job to have the work done?

There was a brake hose recall PO54 done in summer of 2015 in UK.

Corrosion seems a feature - based on my experience you might like to check:
- upper tailgate, especially bottom beside seam;
- rear wheel arches;
- upper tailgate struts;
- lower tailgate support cables;
- black trim strips around windows and doors;
- wheels and wheel centres.

The rear brakes can be prone to seizure, at this age overhaul should be enough, rather than replacement.

I've had a couple of battery drain problems, caused by software problems with (a) locking and (b) fuel burning heater. These occurred at random so could not readily be checked for.

I also had some build problems, buzzing /rattling from dashboard, door seals not fitted properly leading to leak at top of one rear door and new seal required at bottom of rear door, leak of gear oil from join to engine (new gearbox fitted due to scale of fluid loss). Only Range Rovers since 1988

The car can feel intermittently hesitant at constant motorway speeds. Apparently there is a TSB and the issue can be resolved via software upgrade.

I spoke to Land Rover this week as Team Valley couldn't authorise the work as our car is out of warranty but Land Rover have just agreed to do this modification whilst it's in for a service as it's only done 11k miles and was reported to Taggarts in Glasgow 3 times whilst it was under warranty.

It's not going near the dealer in Glasgow again now.
