I have ordered 4 new 275 55 r20 Nexens to fit onto genuine LR 20" Stormer alloys.

I have just worked out that the sidewall depth is approx. 6" and having measured the available turning circle within the front wheel arches I cannot possibly see how the tyres will fit in that space and be able to turn at all.

I am in France, my French is crap and I've ordered them from pneu online.fr.

Will these nexens fit. Is there anyone out there using 275 55 r20 Nexens on the RRS 20" Stormer alloy.

I need a prompt answer please in case I have to cancel the order before the wrong tyres are dispatched to the fitting garage.

I've seen posts re fitting 275 55 r20 tyres, but not on genuine Stormers.

I really hope I'm going to receive the genuine positive answer I'm praying for.

They are 3-4 cm taller than 255 50 20's which are standard, and about 1-2 cm taller than 255 55 20's from the L405 that many people fit - so tight, but should be ok height wise.

275 isn't all that wide - assuming the Stormers are from a Sport, they will need to be that wide given the wider rim width.

I can't be certain, but sounds just about OK to me - but I would change them if you can - 275 45 20 would be a better size - or 50's

My car is a 2006 TD6 and the wheels are genuine RRS Stormers. I'm nonplussed re the 6" sidewall height and the lack of space it creates for the tread across the full width of the tyre without jamming against the front inner wheel arches. Travelling around in circles again.

They are 810mm diameter, my 275/65/18's are 815mm...

I recon you will have to do some trimming, especially the rear right wheel arch where the fuel pipe runs down... it will probably hit front and back on the front arches on full lock as well. I raised the standard ride height a couple of inches but you probably won't want to do that...

Also your speedo will be under reading as you are a long way from standard height, will have a better top speed but your acceleration will suffer as well, noticeably....

On a road FF I'd change the size...  Pete
