Just for your info.
I wanted a bit more sound from my 2007 4.2 SC, but not in the way a honda Civic with straight pipes would make noise... It stays atleast a range rover.

I deleted the 2 mid resonators and replaced them by straight pipes.
The sound is perfect and is just what i wanted.
At cold startup a deep growl, no resonations, even at highway, and when accelerating hard you can now hear the V8 atleast. Not overdone, not too muted.

Very happy with it!

At less throttle it is obvious less loud.

Inside noise is barely noticeable

Before i have no sound clip.

Are the straight pipes custom made or did you order them somewhere?
By the way I love the sound and I will do the same mod on my SC.

Hello

I removed the whole exhaust (easy job).
Then fixed the exhaust in some wooden brakets so it couldnt move when cut in 2.

After that, i cutted the silencers and welded straight pipes in place

That engine can sound great, the jag applications sound sporty, sounds a bit like the Aston V8 vantage. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Don't you have problems with the MOT when you modify the original exhaust?

I was thinking to replace the mid resonator by straight pipes from supersprint.
Then I have a chance to swap back if necessary for MOT.
Supersprint is really expensive are there other brands?

MOT says you have to have an effective exhaust pipe, very subjective, most testers don't fail it unless it's blowing somewhere....

And just in case anyone was thinking of it, don't remove the rear box... makes your ears bleed....

This still has the middle box that FleXzoR removed, I tried it out after trashing the original whilst off roading, it's now got a rear box from an Audi S4 similar to the FF one but half the depth, sounds just a bit meatier than standard...

Was very noisy and droned like hell at speed....

It sounds great but I reckon if you remove just one resonator it would be the perfect balance.
