Hi, I can't seem to see if this is on here but our 54 plate L322 Range Rover's dash cup holder jams. I've got it out and have given it a few squirts of lube but it's still sticking.

Pretty sure you won't manage that... to get it apart, if you have the little wheel out, just pull the cupholder bit straight out of the surround, it's got a little edge on a piece of the internal plastic that you have to pull it past... I expect it is worn somewhere and sticking as it's not moving as it was designed to, I plastered mine in lubricant first but then took it apart and cleaned it all off again as it actually ran better without lube.... suppose they could wear differently though...

Thanks for your help Martin. I'll give it a go. Apparently with age the plastic can warp a little which doesn't help and also if it's left in the "out" position then it can be knocked when the passenger gets in or out of the car and therein is probably the root of the issue.

Well I can't guarantee it will work for yours, but I pulled mine past that (It took some force) and the inner bit came out of the outer bit... As far as JLR are concerned it is a non serviceable item so there are no instructions on taking it apart, you just have to work it out for yourself... ![]() ![]() Cheers Stan.... ![]() __________________________________________________ 2014 L405 Autobiography SDV8 4.4 Loire Blue Ebony interior 2012 L322 Autobiography 5.0 Supercharged Ipanema Sand Sold 2011 L322 Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8 Baltic Blue. The gear at the top can be popped out of place, then the whole inner assembly can come out. However, I agree with Pete - lubrication doesn't help at all. I tried silicone spray and even some LM grease in spots, but that's not the issue. Mine anyway sticks at the end of its travel (i.e. fully in) because the spring is weak. Give it a little help and it pops out.

Johns spring was broken so it didn't come out, he fitted a knob to the front so you just pull it out when you want to use it... |

That's outside the box thinking or outside the cup holder.
