Are you using the right size socket ?

Thanks Alistair. I can turn the alloy cap by hand. I can see the real nut under the cap. It's not moving.

I know the nuts rattle a bit, but I've not heard of them disconnecting.

Thanks, yes is the regular nut. The locking nut came off but it was looking worn and had some rust. I'll be buying a set of 20 soon. ______________________________

Dunno how different yours are, but I bought a set of 5 off eBay from a bloke in Sydney for $45. I wanted to get rid of the lock nuts.

Can you take one of yours off and measure it? I have a set of RRS nuts in the garage that were used with the RRS wheels I had on the P38A. I can measure them for you (not for sale, still needed for the RRS wheels). Ron B. VK2OTC

Can the 'cap' be removed from the nut, just to get you out of trouble?

Thanks Ron. I don't need to drive it. I can wait for a set of wheel nuts.
