I think as long as the car was secure ie locked, I don't see how any insurance company could use the lack of superlock as a reason not to pay it. It's not like you left the doors unlocked and the key in the ignition, in which case, you'd definitely be totally screwed! Whistle Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Superlocking wouldn’t make a jot of difference given the way they are stealing RR’s in London Waheed...

Your only hope is to either further immobilise the car with either an immobiliser or stop lock/steering wheel lock & or a tracking device...

Dont blame yourself sir... Its one of the most pinched cars in the UK at the moment... Rolling Eyes

I don't know how it works over there, but over here I can leave my Rover unlocked, and if someone stole it my insurance would still cover the vehicle.

Leave your car unlocked here in Oz and walk more than 3 metres away (10ft) and you could be fined (if caught). Leave your windows down sufficiently to allow an arm in and you could be fined. People have been. I regularly leave my windows down a little to let heat escape. There's usually no need to worry about rain getting in.

Waheed, i went from a 4.2 to a tdv8 4.4 tractor and absolutely love it ....although i do low miles , the extra mpg makes journeys more satisfying knowing you getting further for the same money...at 80mph ,the engine idles at around 1500 rpm so this makes long motorway journeys effortless ...

Never thought Stan would drive a chip fat burner so they must be ok

bit late now I know but mine is fitted with SupaGlass - Apparently it's one step below bullet proof glass, incredibly difficult to smash and almost impossible to enter the vehicle from the outside even if you do smash it! May be an option to delay entry by a baddie?

there's an interesting video here http://www.tintyourglass.co.uk/supaglass-videos.html

From their web page:

SupaGlass is an invisible super-strong 300 micron thick polyester based laminate, professionally bonded to the inside of the main side windows of your car. It is incredibly tough, optically clear, colourless (and also available in tinted versions), scratch resistant and easy to keep clean. Preparing SupaGlass is a highly specialised process.

SupaGlass is the only automotive security film system of its type that has a Thatcham Q listing.

Benefits of SupaGlass

Side Impact Protection
Roll-over protection
Anti-Car Jacking
Resistant to thieves and smash and grab theft
Safe escape- SupaGlass protected windows are designed to allow shattered windows be pushed out from inside the vehicle

Well, if you let me know the colour, I'll let you know when it arrives here in Kampala! Thumbs Up

Seriously, very sorry to hear what happened. The Discovery 4 is an excellent car, but seem more maintenance heavy than the L322.

I had super glass fitted in my car in Papua New Guinea. Fitted to stop shot gun blast whilst driving. No good for a M16 round though.

Cheers, Jerry THIS WRECKAGE

With regards the superlocking, I just tried mine and it seems to superlock with one push of the button, You cannot get out of the car unless you put the key in and switch it on. (scarey if you are inside Thud .Think I read when I got it that the 2nd press for 3 seconds does perimeter locking. Have to investigate further before I get caught. Declan
