Ok here's another part of the sarga!

I have not used the car in two days, everything level starts first turn, bong all lights as above on.

Drove down to town three miles, stop the engine, get out close the door and the front raises, and did the same on return.

Any more ideas?

I am going to Petes when he is available but just looking for some ideas

Sorry about yesterday Graham, couldn't be helped, I'll text you in a minute, what you describe is pretty normal, they self level after you stop, sometimes before you get out but if you are quick with the door they wait until you have got out....  Pete

Had Graham pop over this morning, quick plug in of the IID and confirmed it is the steering angle sensor on the bottom of the rack, live values show it is totally worn out... two ECU's throwing up steering angle fault so at least he knows what direction to follow, unlike his FF.....

Many thanks for this morning diagnostic and coffee Pete, nice to meet you too.

Looking around the net it seems that when I replace it, it will need calibration !?

I also took some of the panels off and I am sure you are correct in saying it can be done with the dash in!
Just ordered a s/h one with warranty.

Ok finally got the steering angle fitted and Pete was correct, it can be fitted with out removing the dash it took about an hour to do the job. Land Rover estimate 8 hrs

I now have to get the sensor "coded" so hopefully when I find some ware that will do it I hope all will be well.
