Sunday spent hours washing and cleaning FFRR.
Mon Tue & Wed it sat on the drive whilst I used the Audi Cab due to the sunny weather.
Thu morning a bit misty so decided to take the FFRR
Started first time pulled off the drive and could hear rotational drubbing coming from the front
reached the end of the close and braked to check both ways

Pedal went to the floor!

Pumped a few times and got some pressure and brought car to a stop.
Popped the bonnet, fluid fine
Checked below no leaks
Tested pedal, holding firm.
Continued on journey, (drubbing noise now stopped) giving a bit more space to vehicle in front and regular testing of braking.
All fine

Take all of the plastic mud shields off underneath to expose the front to back brake pipes.
I think you will be horrified to see just how badly corroded they are.
Most older models would fail the MOT if they were checked properly.
Cunifer is the way to go.

We had our 07 ffrr on service and MOT (Norwegian equivalent) on Monday - had to replace the brake pipes due to corrosion. The brake pipes were replaced with copper ones, these should at least not fail due to corrosion.
You should check the brake pipes, Joe!

P.S: But after the repair the break pedal is spongy - my guess is that the indy haven't got all the air out when bleedimg the system.

@stan - not touched it since doing all the pipes. All I can think of is that I have a sticky caliper somewhere, that stuck "on" and over the three days a void developed. The handbrake was certainly stuck on but this shouldn't affect the disc brakes. Perhaps the servo needed to build pressure? Brakes are working fine now no sponginess or anything. Maybe worth a dive into Joe's Tools of fame and do another Eazi-Bleed? .

I've had that once Tim, just the once, never done it since, went through the whole system and found nothing... like you say, it's an FF, what do we expect....  Pete
