Mk4 Sat Nav resets when tmc is used

Unusual problem I updated to MK4 nav system around 6 months ago and at the same time updated disk with postcodes / speed cameras etc. For the first time I noticed yesterday when the tmc became active (warning of queuing) the system switched off and immediately rebooted to splash screen, asked if I wanted to continue guiding - accepted and nav came back on but tmc was switched off - audio worked all the time whilst it re-booted (tried a couple of times turning tmc on and within a couple of minutes it would re-boot but only when trying to advise of an issue ahead)
So other than not switching tmc on does anyone have any ideas why it's doing it and if there's a cure - all dry in the boot / amps etc

Just a guess but is the TMC using the same protocols as the speed cameras etc and the latter is overriding it? John

The rebooting is caused by a fault in the BMW firmware, when tmc becomes overloaded with lots of messages at the same time it causes the unit to reboot. There has been rumours in the past about an even later release of the firmware then v32 (last known version) that fixes this issue but I have spent 6 years of ownership looking for it on forums. There is only one way to tell the difference and that is on the normal v32 the sat nav vehicle map marker is like a 3/4 circle where as the illusive later v32 has a full circle vehicle map marker. If anyone has this version I would love to here from you!
