Hi all,

I am looking at getting the seats on my car refurbed as they are showing there age. The door cards are also showing their age, particularly the leather arm rest / door pull. My car has a sand interior and the arm rest is sand as well. The drivers door has also had a previous repair at some point in the past. I have seen a full set of door cards on flea bay but they are off an SE and are sand and black with black arms rests.

What do you guys think about the change? As other partsof the trim are black I thought they may work and with the black handles will not show dirt / age as obviously.

Sounds like a good idea to me, as long as all four are the same it should look fine....  Pete

I priced a new door card because if some slight wear. After recovering from hearing the price quoted, I went off the idea quickly. It's a nice idea, but I guess it depends on source of parts, cost, budget and how bad they are to start with. Good luck.

Unfortunately this set of cards won't do, after looking more closely they are from an earlier model. The ad has the wrong model year info. This full set is £250 so a much more affordable option than new ones.

why not get the seats and dye your current doorcards to match?

Did a 2007 TDV8 last year, had parchment...

Wasn't too bad, I have repaired much worse, it's amasing how good you can get it with some work

Just make sure the place that does it uses adhesion promoter, hardener in the top coat and uses the correct finish, a lot shortcut and just use colour.... :thumbsup:

Expanding on what Hayland said (great work)
most important part as always is preparation...skimp on that and results will be short lived.
Adhesion promoter is not always needed on leather, especially warn leahter but it does add extra insurance for little cost.
Decent dyes have bulit in sealer but the addition of an top coat sealer allows for extra rub, cleaning before you get down to the colour, again not always needed but give extra protection.

Biggest thing is using a water based cleaner, never only just wipe over with a chemical based cleaner. The disbursing of the water+ cleaner gets into the pores, creases and cracks.

With a lot f Range rover seats having leather faces and vinly sides you will need Adhesion promoter if you are applying dye to vinyl (water based dyes as most are now)

Many types of dye around but alway got for once thats matched to your interior, dont both with the self mix fro scratch kits unless your good at doing that.
Go for one with toners if touching in, so main dye the colour f your leather and toners if you need to lighten or darken to "shade"
All leather changes shade/tone so there may be a bit of variation. But what you end up with is usually a lot better than what you started with.
Oh and never use filler on the seats to fill creases or cracks , you will regeret it.

AFAIK all FF's have full leather on all the seats, including the sides, no vinyl... Pete

It depends on the spec.
Some have full and some have leather faces and vinly sides.

Maybe the SE,HSE seats have vinyl sides , don't know never seen any in the flesh but since the beginning all Vogues and over have been all leather , front back and sides. 2008 MY Supercharged
