Decided to finally tackle all the many problems on the RR | |
It's been sitting a long time on the drive, unloved and mainly untouched. Never seem to have the time to actually fix anything and face the headaches of this bodged up motor but decided to bite the bullet and spend the week doing everything with a view to getting it back on the road at the weekend (optimistic I know)
Anyway this is what I've done already over the last year while sat on the drive and a few other bits I've forgotten.
* Vanos gaskets
* Refurbished transfer box motor (that sorted all electrical faults with gearbox)
* PCV Valve and new silicone pipes (old one had been epoxy glued back together and no clips on the pipes)
* Some O rings on the side of the engine where oil filter pipes go into
* Oil change
* Aero wiper conversion
This is what I'm doing this week, all genuine parts except radiator which I took a punt on a budget one.
* Oil cooler and new pipes
* Oil cooler thermostat
* Oil change on gearbox with new filter and correct ATF LT71141
* New radiator
* New water pump
* Lower temp thermostat
* Coolant change
* New drive belt
* New fuel filter
* New lower sump gasket
* New oil filter
* Quick release oil drain plug to fix the stripped one by PO
* New oil (again)
Planned jobs after this lot has been done.
* 2010 rear lights
* 2010 side vents
* Front grill
* Mop and polish
* Seat repair on drivers seat
* Paint and stone chip rear arches
* Good valet
Then once that's all done and I'm happy it's running ok I'll get an LPG conversion done.
Oh and I've only gone and just bought a 2010 front bumper off eBay, suppose I'll have to now do the front 2010 facelift.
Right wish me luck!!! 2004 RR 4.4 V8 Autobiography
