Any one dealt with or know of JCT 29 Select Mansfield?

Firstly very sorry if this is in the wrong place, I'm new.......

I'm possibly going to buy an AB (SP60 AUC) at the above dealers tomorrow and wondered if anyone knew the car and/or the dealer?

They are RAC approved but I did see a couple of negative reviews online but not many and could just be a few disgruntled customers any dealer could get.....however, once that thought is in your mind!

I have obviously done the HPI checks and it did show some plate changes, probably to be expected on these FFRRs but I rang HPI directly and they cleared it saying reg and vin were clear.

I will ring the RAC in the morning too to triple check but its obviously the large amount of cash that is making me nervous.

As a matter of interest, when paying a dealer how have you guys done it when its a large wedge? The dealer said they preferred card.

Thank you if any one can shed any new light and again I'm sorry if I've put this in the wrong place, I'll take my slap round the mush in silence Very Happy

Kind of hoping no one knows anything bad as I really am looking forward to a convoluted drive home Very Happy

Cheers
Pete

Paying with a credit card as opposed to a debit card does give you more protection should there be any issues with the car.your contact is with the credit card company and not the dealer and they can apply more pressure in the event of problems, even as far as giving you your money back..

Hi Lawsey,

Thanks for the suggestion, I did read about the section 75 credit card protection.
Unfortunately I don't have a credit card (not bothered with one for years), my other half has one but the limit is no where near sufficient to purchase an AB, I wish Smile

I understand there is the visa debit card charge back option but it's not as good as the credit card protection unfortunately.

Hopefully I will get a positive response from the RAC when I ring.

Cheers
Pete

Even if you pay only the deposit (say £500) with a credit card, you get full protection!

Thanks Stuart, that's a handy bit of information. I shall remember that for next time.
I suppose I had better get a credit card at some point for things such as this.

I bought her, and I'm pleased so far. I'll gird up the loins and get ready for bills to come rolling in Smile

Thanks for that Marsie, good to know although I believe Craig has left now.

I bought the car so fingers crossed all turns out well. Loving it so far.

I'll get some sorted and post them up when I'm home from holiday. It definitely needs to find itself on some beaches while I'm down here in sunny Cornwall. Not sill deep in sea water though Wink

On another note, I understand you do gearbox oil changes? I'm also wondering if there is a way of finding out if the gearbox has had the new software as it clunked into gear and was imo sluggish to get going when I had to get out of a junction quicker than I would like due to a nutter speeding towards me! When actually moving the gearbox is sublime and seems responsive, from standstill, not so much.

Cheers
Pete
