I need to change a couple of bushings on the rear (mot failure) and my mechanic has asked is it ok to use the 4 post lift or is there any procedure to watch out for with the suspension "hanging" - I never thought of it before as all I ever had done was a wheel change (and they used a large trolley jack for that) also the handbrake is weak (failed at 15% pass is 16%) I'll do a quick search now but any advice or tips would be welcome |

Perhaps the OP's mechanic was asking about a 2 post lift? Hence the reference to "the suspension hanging" |

My 07 VSE was put up on a 2 post lift. I drained the air from the suspension completely using the IID tool before it went up so as not to risk popping the airbags. I never had any issues caused by doing this.

Mines been on one dozens and dozens of times... when let down it sometimes does some strange things but it's never been a problem, within seconds it's sorted itself out... No need to do any prep.... |

I've had mine on 2 and 4 post ramps with the wheels hanging in the air with no problems at all. They are designed to do that with the ETC when a wheel leaves the ground or cross axles. No problem at all. I wouldn't worry too much about that. Tony

I don't have the fail sheet here but I think it was the near side lower rear hub (or something like that) |

If it's lower hub bushes then they will need a very substantial bush puller to do the job, if they are not used to working on big 4x4's they may not realise the ones they have for cars just won't work..
