Old but new post ))

Guys
I've posted about this issue before but nowI I understand the issue a bit better.

Sometimes my ignition lock won't come off and I can't turn the key. I have to disconnect and reconnect the battery for it to sort itself out.

I also know when it's not going to restart. Basically if when I take the key out of the ignition and the steering lock doesn't come on then I know I'm having to play with the battery next time I come to start it.

Now this only happens in the winter when it's bloody freezing (I live in Russia). I never have this issue in the summer. So I'm guessing something is freezing, jamming or sticking with the cold.

If my terrible Russian is anything to go by I think I was told I'd have to change my steering column.

Any ideas guys?
Ps I drive a 2012 FFSC

No i hadn't seen this wiki so that's great thanks.

So possibly I have some widgets that have corroded. Would this explain the steering lock not activating when I'm having this issue?

Also my key doesn't actually get stuck in the ignition. Just that the ignition is locked and I can't start the car

Ps merry Christmas to all. They're strange in Russia and have xmas day early January ))
