There's loads of (bad) reports about using 'replicas' on the L322 - they usually aren't load rated high enough & fail.

+1 for strong wheels. I managed to dent a 19" gen LR wheel, i dread to think how a "fashion" wheel would have fared. |

The only non-OEM wheels I would use were ones I had made at a reputable company and designed to take the weight and forces generated.

and me I honestly dont understand why people want to go away from a wheel tyre combo that was designed for the vehicle I do lots of miles and batter my cars change tyres at 4mm and use winters it would all be to no avail if I was using inferior wheels where is the safety in that? |

I fitted Compomotives as they are the only 18" option for my 2008 L322. I have 265/60/18s as easy size to get in oz. The bigger size is not noticeable other than the speedo is now pretty much spot on. ______________________________

I don't know about the UK but as long as the wheel and tyre complies with the road rules the insurance company would be struggling to knock back a claim. ______________________________

my insurance is trade, I have a check box to declare modifications should the car be a total write off the insurance company wouldn't pay any extra from my wheels but that would be about it, in saying that the wheels are probably a similar price to second hand OEM wheels |

I very very much doubt that - is there any proof ? Did they come with a certificate ? Do you seriously believe that LR will accredit a copy of their own wheels ?? ![]() |
