I justified a good proportion of my L405 on the much improved fuel economy |

SDV8 VSE - I get much more than I used to, but not as high as some - mainly due to being the owner of a lear right foot.....

Just worth checking which L405 3.0 diesel is the one going pop. I understand that there is a 3.0 lump with quite a high failure rate.

My 3.0 TDV6 L405 averages about 34mpg. I also like the road tax at £230 although the benefit is entirely psychological given the overall cost of ownership. |

I must either have a problem with car or doing something wrong - I get about 350 miles to the tank in my SDV8!! |

I do mostly open A roads & motorways - only about 20% around town - but even so, 350 sounds poor. |

Well just filled mine up, got down to 4 miles left on range. Tank took 80.5 litres and range showed 382 miles... no idea if that is 'normal' or not? I am a little confused or mistaken as I vaguely remember people saying their cars take 85-90 litres, mine certainly doesn't. Maybe i have taken that out of context & it was a different model, or even engine. I thought they had an 82 litre tank, which my recent fill seems to confirm ?
