Greetings all
I have been getting the nasty Suspension Fault message for a couple of weeks now and I don't have the Fault reading tool yet to diagnose. I do, however, have the Nav screen and it shows my Left Front Wheel bouncing all over the place. So with the research of this and a couple of other sites I am concluding it is the height sensor. (I posted on this site because you guy's seem to be the most knowledgeable (hopefully flattery will get me everywhere!))
As you can see by the Pic I have posted, there is a lot of gunk and grime all over the sensor connector. Do you think it may just need a good cleaning instead of it being the HS? I have already ordered the sensor so i will prolly go ahead and just change it out, but should I look into getting a new connector piece as well? I have seen some threads where folks suggest changing it out by splicing in a new one. Thoughts?
Some more info on the actual Fault: Sometimes it is just the suspension fault, which I guess is a soft fault, and sometimes it gives me the dreaded "dont exceed 30mph" message and it drops to the bump stops. In General, I know I can't diagnose without the code reader, but does a misbehaving height sensor have the ability to cause both of those issues?
I bought this 3 weeks ago and love it, just don't want to be afraid to drive it. I downloaded the Shop manual yesterday so kudo's to all of you who made that thing available.
