Saw it on the news. On the tv it was at a different angle and much closer, definitely a P38. Very sad whatever it was that hit them though.

Yup, looks like a P38 to me... Harsh before crimbo. I wonder what caused the driver to mount the kerb though.

I also wonder whether the BBC would have mentioned any other car by name.

Just what I was thinking, any other news would be announced as "a car hit...."

Part of the subliminal propaganda campaign that the BBC (On behalf of) the government is waging against 4x4, to justify higher taxes etc.

Just got a reminder that although its 4X4 its got Pirelli summer tyres on it and they are not studded.

It snowed heavily here earlier and I was heading to school and took a right had T junction at about 10 mph and started to go sideways before adding a little power and lock to safely exit the turn. Reminded me that its just a car after all.

Ita a 2 ton monster that logically takes twice the effort to halt in these situations.

Very very sad for the women and there families,especially at this time of year. If you have nothing nice to say,say nothing at all.

Very sad indeed I work near here and saw all the police cars after getting off the bus. According to the news the weather was not a factor in the crash, but the driver may have taken ill at the wheel

Thoughts go out to the families.

Is it just me but I live in a small village with minimal lighting so when I'm walking my 5 ear old home from school (on the rare occasion that I'm anywhere near home before evening) I am always, especially in winter, conscious of vehicles that are approaching......

My other half says that I'm a pessimist and a control freak, which may be true, but if something good is going to happen I'm happy for the surprise, but if it's something bad I'd like a heads-up...

Having said all of this, at this time of year it always seems the world falls apart for some unfortunate people, very sad and as I said, thoughts go out to the families.

Not only do they state 4x4 and Range Rover....But make and model FFS!

(More ammo for the anti 4x4 lobby)

Shame really, because usually when we have adverse weather, it's the only time of year 4x4's get good press....
