Yet another "which battery thread" TDV8 3.6 2007

Having spent the morning reading different threads about which battery I should buy I just wanted to confirm peoples current recommendations for a 2007 3.6 TDV8 battery.

Varta 020 silver... exactly the same as the Land Rover battery, except it doesn't say Land Rover and you don't pay 100 for the sticker... Whistle Although the Land Rover Battery does say Varta on it Wink

Thanks Miggit, I read somewhere that the 020 battery needs a bit of the foot cutting off it on an 2007 car due to the positive terminal pyro connector anyone doe it without?

some say.....it does

I couldn't get the bosch version of the 020 to fit (was my thread with the saw and chopping bits off)

the mod to the battery only affects the flange at the bottom which would hold it down in other cars.

But some have made it fit without modification. Rolling Eyes dunno how. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I couldn't understand it as I got mine to fit, then I bought a second and it wouldn't

Comparing the two side by side, the newer one was slightly bigger and needed a trim

Varta 020 with a trim of the base to fit. Best by far I think. 2007 Vogue TDV8 with 255/55/20's fitted

I have a Bosch S5 in mine, no issues to report so far over the last 15 months. It passed the '2 weeks in the airport car park' test last summer, however I do have a small solar panel which seems to keep it happy. 1982 SIII 88” diesel
