Coolant pump

Stopped at the lights, I hear a groaning from the engine, park where it is safe and pop up the bonnet, sounds like the bearing going in a washing machine, steam rising and the fan doing a wild off center orbit. Get back in and bing check coolant appears in the words of death window.
Less than a mile to home where I park up and let it cool down. Topped up with 1 and a half litres, no flow through, start it up and under tray starts to drip out water. Don't sound as bad, fan showing lots of movement. Turn it off and check everything. I guess that the pump/bearings has died.
Not a big job, just waiting for a replacement and new drive belts while I'm there to arrive.
And there is me telling Dolphinboy on Monday that I have no problems.

Clive ,
Many thanks again for your kind help.

Make sure the new pump is a hella or OEM equivalent as the first line ones I got were useless and failed less than a year afterwards.

Hope it all sorts itself. Thumbs Up

What nightmare, bolts shearing, wrong pump sent, seized tension pulley bolts on the A/C and no skin on my knuckles.
Belts on now just got to remember where all the wires/pipes/thingymajigs go and should be up and running today.
Gave the rad a flush through and it was very clean so there is a plus.
Great to be blessed with good weather while I'm working.
Next time I need anything doing I think I'll pay CAMTECH to do it, it will stop the wife from keep on telling me I'm not as young as I used to be!

All working, no left over bolts either.

Not the best of days to test the heater though, bit of pine cladding and I'd have a home sauna!
