I like the tube idea. but I wil be buying black 40mm waste pipe, from B+Q and some £3 brollies from sports direct. though they might be golf sized, (not sure they will fit.)

We could even find them one day on newer models, like on the Rolls Royce, within the rear door, and pull out whence door is opened, to shelter SWMBO from the rain!

I employ a different umbrella solution, although I've no pictures to show you.

I bought a Genuine 'Range Rover' umbrella from eBay. It's not terribly big but perfectly OK for one and has the button release on the handle.

It's one of those which folds very small and short - ideal for a briefcase I suppose.

Anyway, as it's black (my SC has black leather) and has its own little RR branded sleeve, it fits nicely snd discreetly on the rear middle seat at the base of the backrest and it's the same width as the rear middle seat. It doesn't get in the way and never moves and, to be fair, is rarely used, but in a rather handy place should it ever be required. Si. <This is my name.

Umbrella and Holder

Decided to treat the bus to another goody so ordered the Range Rover Umbrella and the Holder.
Fits a treat and when you open the upper tailgate it cant be seen.
R/Rover Umbrella...........51LBUM227BKA (sprung loaded opening with Range Rover name tag on handle.
Umbrella Holder..............VPLGS0153

I chose the approx mounting position for the straps and carefully hand drilled (5mm drill) the rivet holes.

A pro & a con - the L405 seats don't fold flat like the L322, the base cushion doesn't move, just the seat back folds - but I can lower and raise it electrically from the boot.
