Upgrade options

Hi All,

Tried several searches but wanted a definative answer if I may. I have a 54 plate Vogue FFRR and want to know if...

1) Can I upgrade at a reasonable cost to the touchy screen system
2) If not, can I add dvd player
3) Digi TV (already have analogue)
4) what bluetooth options available without phone prewire.

If all of these are non starters, has anyone ever added aftermarket double din unit including bluetooth/sat nav etc and been able to keep onboard computer controls etc... ie fuel consumption/timers and preheater setup etc.

Thanks all - and apologies, it's a big question really. Ash

Re: Upgrade options

1) Can I upgrade at a reasonable cost to the touchy screen system - No

2) If not, can I add dvd player - DVD Nav known as the MK4

3) Digi TV (already have analogue) - Yes

4) what bluetooth options available without phone prewire. - I have used the Nokia CK-1W to great effect in the past. You can use the factory mic location next to the sunroof controls and the sound comes through the front speakers after muting the radio.

Thanks Dan.

You say yes to DVD - I meant a DVD player rather than the DVD Nav. (MKIV unit). I do hav ethe MKIV unit on its way to me already along with iPod (intravee II).

It already had a bluetooth kit in it but unsure which one. comes through a crappy speaker in the pass footwell. Maybe worth investigating if I can tap into the car steroe speakers and mute function and leave it at that. I assume there is some kind of "plug" i can get to integrate this bit. Ash

Take a photo of the button for the bluetooth unit if you have one. My control unit was behind the small access panel where the bonnet lever is - have a look you'll see where I mean. In there was a black Nokia box with the part number on it.

Yes you need a cable to link into the car's speakers rather than the crappy speaker.

Yes you can link in a DVD player into the S-Video link in the TV unit in the boot I believe...

Yay for Intravee! I tried and failed, but then realised what I was doing wrong after I sold the unit!
