Ok mot advisory that the front pads may require replacing. Having a 4.2 sc brembo pad replacements are approx £120.00.
Any other pads worth considering ? Or should i stick with whats previously been fitted. Appreciate that you dont want to compromise on safety with regards brakes,but wonder what others have used and how they compare. £120 for a set of brake front pads seams steep ,am i just paying for the brand when a simular quality product is out there.The part number is sfp500070.

Not sure about an alternative as only use genuine on mine but think of it in terms of costing less than 1p per mile.

And remember there's only a very small number of critical bits mainly the rubber in contact with the road and the brakes that allow you to stop a 2.5T hunk of metal quickly and safely.

I had mine changed 2 weeks ago, using genuine LR pads, but my front wheels are full of black brake dust after every journey.
I wish they could come up with a way of reducing the problem. They must be a very soft compound. G reg 2.5VM Vogue Portofino red 1991- 1999

2011 Vogue SE 4.4 with lots of toys in Stornaway

I was in the same situation and although genuine pads would have been my preferance, £120 is steep. So I went with Delphi pads and I cant fault it tbh. (It had PAGID pads on previously). I did use the genuine pad wear sensor as I got them from fleBay for £7.

Pins nicely cleaned and Ceratec grease applied. Discs painted with VHT matt silver paint and it looks a dream.

Next task is to replace rear pads and discs (weather permitting) Current:

Get yourself on the demon tweeks website. The brembo are a standard size I use the same size pad in my race car. I wish they just cost 120 gbp..... the ebc are always a good all round pad.
