It is a twelve page description of how the parking brake works in the WM, but I would start by checking to see if the Bowden cable to the failed side is intact.

Was it an MOT done via a main dealer (and did you see the spinning wheel)? |

No not done at main dealer, a local MOT garage, charging £25, I watched as he carried out the job and he showed me the offside rear wheel turning withe EPB on. I am going to get my indie to fix it for me nect week and get a free retest if it is within 10 days.

Do the newer cars not have individual actuators on each calliper to alleviate the problems which they used to have on the early systems e.g. D3.

All sorted, it seems the cable that pulls the offside park brake on had slipped out of its little socket. My Indie could not throw any light on how it could come out, but it had. Anyway it is booked in for a retest and I hope now everything will be OK |
