New car.

So in 5 to 6 weeks I will take possession of the new ford galaxy 2.0 150 ps titanium x auto.
Never had a brand new car.
How do you folks on here recommend running her in?.

Cheers stan, I've googled running in a new car and they mostly come up with the same.
Keep it under or around 3,000 rpm for the first 1,000mls.
We have had black with cream leather interior, only optional extra was the heated steering wheel at £125.00.
Now I have to swat up on the sync 3 ford system. Laughing

I'm of the opinion* that it's better to rev it than allow it to labour using the torque which granted, is counterintuitive for a diesel.

*more than one old school engineer (mechanical) convinced me of this

If I get enough for the deposit on it, then yes. If not I may keep it a while, do some jobs that need doing, then sell privately.
The dealer will not give me a price until a month before due date of new car.
I'm real sorry to be leaving the ff fold, but we have to be practical. Crying or Very sad
I've really enjoyed my last 3+ years of ff ownership, and of course this terrific forum, without which, I couldn't have maintained my ff, I will miss her when she goes.
But needs must.
The galaxy looks good, although will never have the road presence of the ff, not our choice of car really but, it will be more practical and serve a good purpose.
My thinking is, the way cars are going now, it will be increasingly more difficult to maintain and run a car, especially with the advent of hybrid and electric cars.
So I will take the plunge now and change every 3 years.
I wish all the members on here all the best, and long live the ffrr.
Greg. Thumbs Up
